Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting & Reporting
  •  
  • Set up and manage full-cycle accounting for a Polish legal entity
  • Ensure compliance with Polish accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage payroll accounting in cooperation with external payroll providers
  • Oversee VAT, CIT, PIT and other tax filings and payments
  •  
  • Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting and filings
  • Act as the main contact for auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities
  • Maintain internal accounting controls and documentation
  • Support audits and inspections
  •  
  • Business Support
  •  
  • Support management with financial analysis and reporting
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Advise management on accounting and tax implications of business decisions
  •  
  • Team & Process Development
  •  
  • Build, structure, and manage the local accounting team (as the company scales)
  • Implement accounting policies, procedures, and workflows
  • Coordinate accounting processes with HQ / group finance (if applicable)

Requirements:

  • Professional Experience
  •  
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting, including senior or chief accountant role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Polish accounting and tax regulations
  • Experience in IT / services companies or international environments is a strong advantage
  • Experience setting up accounting for a new entity is a plus
  •  
  • Education & Certifications
  •  
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Professional accounting qualification (Polish or international) is an advantage
  •  
  • Languages
  • English — working proficiency
  • Polish — native or fluent
  •  
  • Technical Skills
  •  
  • Experience with accounting systems (ERP / local accounting software)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Understanding of payroll, VAT, and cross-border services
  •  
  • Personal Qualities

  • High level of ownership and responsibility
  • Strong attention to detail with pragmatic mindset
  • Ability to work independently and build processes from scratch
  • Comfortable communicating with non-finance stakeholders
  • Able to operate in a fast-growing IT environment
