Job Description

The Finance team comprises multiple functions fromBusiness Performance Management, Digital Transformation, Financial Planning & Analysis , Financials Control, Operations, Procurement, Tax, and Treasury. Together, the team optimizes our global finance initiatives and enjoys being detailed-oriented while multitasking across various exciting project scopes.

We are looking to recruit a highly skilled VAT Manager for the European, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) region to drive the rapidly growing tax compliance function at Crypto.com. In this position, you will focus on the end-to-end indirect tax compliance of the EMEA regional business.

Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager, EMEA the successful candidate will play an important role to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of VAT compliance matters for the EMEA region. The ideal candidate will be a team player with attention to detail and ability to perform a thorough self-review of work product. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate in-depth understanding and experience in effectively applying VAT concepts and VAT knowledge to business situations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit timely, accurate VAT returns and payments; coordinate with external advisors as needed
  • Prepare and record VAT journal entries in the enterprise accounting system
  • Manage and advise on optimizing indirect tax positions across EMEA
  • Collaborate with Finance, Payments, and Operations teams on data gathering, payments, projects, and queries, as required
  • Ensure existing VAT treatment across EMEA remains up to date with the latest developments and analyze new revenue streams/products to determine the correct VAT treatment
  • Manage VAT registrations in new EMEA markets
  • Lead VAT-related projects, including e-invoicing implementation, AI-driven enhancements to the VAT compliance process and other VAT compliance initiatives
  • Serve as the primary liaison with tax authorities during VAT audits and inquiries, managing relationships and resolving disputes efficiently
  • Stay current on VAT regulations and legislative changes across the EMEA region
  • Perform other ad hoc VAT-related tasks as assigned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s in Accountancy or ACCA qualification; additional VAT qualifications a plus
  • Ideally 6+ years professional work experience gained with a professional tax services firm – some experience in-house is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of VAT laws in key EMEA markets. Good knowledge of VAT laws in markets such as Ireland, Malta, UK are essential
  • Knowledge of VAT rules in UAE or GCC regions would be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, project management, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Being able to work independently, managing own workload and projects and always has a positive working attitude and willing to take on tasks
  • Extremely detail oriented with an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about Crypto and the growth of digital assets
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of other European languages a plus
