Job Description
About Monstro
Monstro is the operating system for governed financial intelligence. We build governance and intelligence infrastructure that enables artificial intelligence to operate safely, explainably, and at institutional scale.
We exist because the level of financial guidance historically available to a small group should be accessible to many more people. By combining AI with deep institutional infrastructure, we help financial institutions deliver more personalized, responsible, and life-changing financial support to millions of individuals.
We’re building mission-critical systems in a highly regulated domain, and we care deeply about doing it right. If you’re motivated by meaningful problems, high standards, and shaping infrastructure that improves financial outcomes, you’ll feel at home here.
About the Role
We are hiring a Head of People & Growth to build and lead the infrastructure that powers our hiring engine, people operations, and organizational scale.
This is not a traditional HR role.
This is a leverage role. The right person will remove operational drag from the executive team, build a metrics-driven recruiting function, ensure flawless people operations and compliance, and design systems that allow Monstro to scale efficiently, and drive our evolution from a U.S.-centric model to global people operations across multiple international markets.
You will own recruiting, people operations, compliance, and workforce planning. You will lead a small but high-impact team, including senior recruiters and people operations support. You will operate with autonomy and accountability, partnering closely with leadership to ensure our talent strategy directly supports revenue and growth.
What You’ll Do
Own and Scale Recruiting
- Lead and optimize the full hiring pipeline across technical and business roles
- Manage and develop senior recruiters
- Build structured, metrics-driven recruiting processes
- Track and improve time to hire, cost per hire, and funnel conversion
- Design and manage recruiting budgets
- Build executive-level hiring workflows for leadership and strategic roles
- Ensure hiring velocity aligns with growth targets
You will treat recruiting as a growth function, not an administrative one.
Build World-Class People Operations
- Own payroll, benefits, compliance, and employment infrastructure
- Oversee multi-state registrations and tax compliance
- Manage contractor onboarding, including international engagements
- Ensure systems such as Gusto (HR & Payroll) and related tools run flawlessly
- Design scalable onboarding and off-boarding processes
- Maintain policy frameworks and documentation
- Implement operational rigor across the employee lifecycle
Nothing slips through the cracks.
Bring Financial and Analytical Rigor
- Build dashboards and reporting for hiring and workforce planning
- Partner with finance on headcount forecasting and budget management
- Implement KPI-driven accountability across recruiting and people ops
- Design incentive structures tied to efficiency and performance
- Continuously optimize for cost control and scalability
You must be comfortable in spreadsheets and data, not just conversations.
Act as a Strategic Operator
- Serve as a trusted partner to leadership
- Operate independently with minimal oversight
- Escalate only what matters
- Focus on structural improvements over reactive problem-solving
- Protect executive bandwidth by absorbing operational complexity
This role exists to unlock leadership capacity and accelerate growth.
Team Structure
You will lead:
- Senior Recruiters
- People Operations support
You will build the systems and standards that define how we hire and operate as we scale.
What We’re Looking For

- 8+ years in People, Talent, or HR leadership roles in high-growth environments
- Proven success scaling recruiting in a fast-moving company
- Experience managing people operations, compliance, and payroll systems
- Strong understanding of employment infrastructure across multiple states
- Experience partnering closely with finance and executive teams
- Global exposure or experience in Middle East, LATAM, and APAC markets
- Startup or high-growth experience is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Metrics-driven mindset
- Strong financial literacy and spreadsheet fluency
- Operational excellence and attention to detail
- Executive presence and communication skills
- Ability to build systems from scratch
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity
- High ownership mentality
Mindset
- Builder, not maintainer
- Structured thinker who creates clarity
- Bias toward action
- Comfortable making decisions
- Understands that hiring velocity impacts revenue
- Sees people infrastructure as a competitive advantage
