About the Role This isn’t a typical Public Policy role. You will work on initiatives that genuinely transform how finance works in India, a type of work few roles offer. As a Director of Public Policy & Government Affairs, your key role will be to help the organisation's regulatory engagement, advocacy, and policy development initiatives across India and the broader MENA region.  This is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping CoinDCX's regulatory narrative, building relationships with government stakeholders, and advancing favorable policy frameworks for crypto assets and blockchain technology. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in crypto asset regulation, Indian financial policy frameworks, and government relations, combined with exceptional strategic thinking and stakeholder management capabilities. What You’ll Do * Identify emerging policy risks and opportunities in Crypto Asset taxation, AML/KYC compliance, and digital asset regulation across India and the MENA region. * Draft, review & finalize policy position papers, white papers, and regulatory recommendations on key issues, including TDS implementation, stablecoin frameworks, and DeFi regulation * Align and implement a comprehensive public policy and government affairs strategy aligned with CoinDCX's business objectives and regulatory environment * Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, providing proactive analysis and recommendations to senior management * Build and maintain strategic relationships with government officials, regulators, and policymakers across key agencies.  * Serve as primary liaison for regulatory inquiries, policy consultations, and compliance discussions * Represent CoinDCX at government hearings, policy forums, stakeholder consultations, and parliamentary committee sessions * Coordinate formal submissions, representations, and formal correspondences to regulatory bodies You'll know you are winning when * Established credible relationships with key government officials across the Ministry of Finance, RBI, SEBI, and FIU * Successful submission of CoinDCX policy recommendations on 3-4 priority regulatory issues * Active participation in 2-3 major policy advocacy campaigns (industry-wide or CoinDCX-led) * Quarterly regulatory intelligence reports delivered to executive leadership * Internal team built and operating with a clear mandate and institutional knowledge * CoinDCX positioned as credible policy voice in India's crypto regulatory dialogue * Proactive identification of regulatory risks with mitigation strategies implemented Experience * Minimum 8-10 years of experience in public policy, government relations, regulatory affairs, or related roles with demonstrated experience navigating India’s regulatory environment.  * Preferred: Direct experience in crypto assets, fintech, blockchain, or digital financial services regulation Knowledge & Expertise * Strong knowledge of India's financial services regulatory structure (RBI, SEBI, FIU, CBDT mandates) * Understanding of blockchain technology, DeFi, stablecoins, and tokenisation use cases * Knowledge of public policy development processes, legislative procedures, and regulatory rule-making Skills & Competencies * Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyse complex policy environments and develop long-term government affairs strategies * Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex technical and regulatory concepts to diverse audiences * Advocacy & Negotiation: Strong advocacy experience with demonstrated ability to influence policy outcomes through persuasive engagement * Leadership: Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing organizational change * Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with resilience in navigating high-pressure regulatory situations * Network: Established network of contacts within the Indian government, regulatory agencies, and the fintech/crypto industry Education * Bachelor's degree in Economics, Law, Public Policy, Political Science, Finance, or related discipline (required) * Advanced degree (Master's in Public Policy, MBA, LLM, or equivalent) preferred * Professional certifications in blockchain, compliance or regulatory affairs are a plus Preferred Qualifications * Prior experience working for a crypto asset or fintech company * Experience with industry association leadership or policy advocacy organisations * Published research, articles, or white papers on crypto policy or regulation * Prior engagement with parliamentary committees, Ministry consultations, or formal policy advocacy * Track record of successful policy campaigns or regulatory outcomes * Media appearances or thought leadership in a related field.  Why This Role Matters & What’s In It For You You will work closely with the senior leadership, influence high-stakes decisions, and create visible policy impact in one of the world’s fastest-evolving industries Hiring Process Here’s what your journey with us looks like: * Application Review – We assess for skills, alignment, and intent * Recruiter Connect – A short conversation to understand you better * Functional Round(s) – Deep dive into your approach, craft, and problem-solving * Assignment / Simulation Round – A take-home task or live problem-solving exercise to understand how you think and execute in real scenarios * Culture & Values Discussion – A conversation to understand our ways of working and how you thrive best Where We Work We believe the best ideas emerge when people build together.
