We are looking for you, a Senior Technical Designer with experience in console game development, to join our friendly Stockholm studio and one of our new game teams. We have a hybrid working model setup collaborate closely within and across disciplines as well as with our partner studios in the UK and Sweden.
As a Senior Technical Designer, you’ll be working closely with quest designers, other designers, key stakeholders and other craft representatives to create a high-quality hand-crafted quest experience for our players. You will be a core part of the game development process for one of the biggest game franchises in the world – from ideation and design to implementing and polishing.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to bring quests and gameplay elements to life – from idea to implementation
- Design and implement Quests in Unreal Engine (5)
- Be responsible for iterative design and implementation work as well as bug-fixing for quests
- Test, evaluate and balance your designs in cooperation with peers and other crafts and stakeholders within the project
- Collaborate with your team and project on creating the best experience for our players
- Communicate rationales, design choices and feedback, within the team and project
- Document your work, making sure it stays up-to-date and is shared within the project
Qualifications
- At least 4-5 years of experience with strong knowledge of Technical/Quest/Game. design
- Experience with game development and working in Unreal Engine (5)
- Knowledge of game design and understanding of contextualized design
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written form (in English), to support your vision
- Ability to work together with other designers, engineers and other stakeholders
- The desire to be part of a creative and highly collaborative team and ability to work with feedback and direction.
- Narrative Design experience is a plus
- Experience with, and an understanding of what makes Minecraft what it is also considered a plus
