The Job
Unchained Labs is building the next cool life sciences tools company, and the AI-integrated automated workflow instruments fit directly into that mission. Now, we’re looking for a Field Automation Scientist (FAS) to strengthen the squad of Workflow North America.
- Provide pre-sales support for our AI-integrated workflow automation solutions.
- Be the technical expert to bridge customer pain into requirements which fit the Unchained automated workflow capabilities.
- Work collaboratively within Unchained Labs with sales, engineering and field service to scope appropriate AI-integrated workflow solutions.
- Blend of remote meetings along with travel to some of the best global industry sites to explain how Unchained Labs solutions can dramatically improve R&D productivity and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Translate customers’ needs into novel AI-integrated automated workflow solutions.
- Give technical seminars and present technical details of configurable workflow proposals to multiple stakeholders at customer accounts.
- Demonstrate AI-integrated software capabilities relevant to customer requirements and needs.
- Independently demonstrate the capabilities being proposed, when needed, for selected workflow systems, and collaborate with FAS colleagues globally when additional demonstrations are required.
- Be a customer advocate, give us the real scoop about what’s going on, and help us identify industry trends to stay on the cutting edge.
Qualifications
- MS degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or related scientific field, PhD preferred
- 5+ years in customer support, FAS, or related industry roles
- Experience with lab automation hardware and software platforms
- Credibility and ability to inspire confidence during technical discussions with senior researchers and managers
- Exposure to a broad range of chemistry and material science disciplines
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex ideas to both external customers and internal teams
- Comfort with a dynamic work environment and schedule, including working on multiple projects and application areas in a day and managing flexible travel plans
- Travel up to 50% overnight when required
- Open mindset and inherent intellectual curiosity
- Location preferred – San Francisco Bay Area
Compensation
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 - $150,000. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual base salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices. This role is also eligible for our commission program, and comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs.
