Job Summary

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who brings deep expertise in visual hierarchy, interaction design, information architecture, and scalable design systems. At this level, you will shape end-to-end experiences across multiple product areas, mentor designers, and raise the quality bar for how we design at Uphold. You will anticipate challenges, drive discovery, and partner with cross-functional teams to turn ambiguous problems into clear, user-centered solutions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead design initiatives across complex user journeys and platforms.
  • Influence early product strategy by shaping problem framing, tradeoffs, and discovery work.
  • Mentor and coach designers across levels; model high-quality craft and decision-making.
  • Drive the evolution of our design system, design tokens, and cross-feature patterns.
  • Facilitate usability testing and continuous discovery practices.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders and keep teams aligned on design strategies.
  • Identify risks, anticipate blockers, and guide teams toward practical solutions.
  • Contribute to hiring, leveling, and improving design practices across the org.


Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 6–9 years of professional product design experience.
  • Proven ability to own large-scale projects with minimal guidance.
  • Mastery of Figma, component libraries, version control, and documentation.
  • Strong expertise in IA, interaction design, visual hierarchy, and usability.
  • Ability to clearly articulate design decisions and lead group discussion. 
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable, proactive, and collaborative.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and enabling clarity for others.
  • Committed to Uphold values: transparent, respectful, secure, open, and innovative.
  • Demonstrates humility, curiosity, courage, and a growth mindset.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving cross-team initiatives or multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Familiarity with business strategy and product metrics.
  • Background in continuous discovery and/or rapid testing
