Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager to join our team in Helsinki. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, components, and services necessary for the development and production of Thor Dynamics' advanced directed energy systems. This role is critical in ensuring a reliable supply chain, cost efficiency, and securing high-quality materials for our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure reliability and performance.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to maintain an efficient supply chain.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, industry regulations, and company standards.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to align purchasing decisions with project requirements.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make data-driven purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and manage budgets, reports, and procurement documentation.
• Lead and mentor the purchasing team to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in defense, aerospace, or high-tech industries.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Experience with procurement software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Finnish is an advantage.
