Job Description

Valence has built the only AI native coaching platform for enterprise, offering personalized, expert, and human-like guidance and support to any leader or employee. We’re not just talking about the future of work — we’re building it now, with the most innovative Fortune 500 companies across healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and technology.

Our focus is on the problems that actually decide whether AI changes how organizations operate — the ones with no playbook, no obvious answers, and no guarantee of success. If you want to be part of the small group that defines how AI transforms the future at a global scale, this is your chance.

And this isn’t for everyone. We’re not looking for people who want predictability or incremental progress. We only want those who are restless at the edge of what’s possible, who get bored when things feel “done,” and who are driven to redefine what AI can mean for leaders, companies, and the world. Because at Valence, the work worth doing is the kind that redefines work itself.

The Role
We’re looking for a Technical Product Manager, AI Product to act as a close partner to our VP of Engineering, helping drive Valence’s most critical AI and product initiatives. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, this role sits at the intersection of product leadership, AI fluency, and execution, with broad scope and high impact across the organization.

You’ll function as a strategic and operational multiplier for engineering leadership — helping translate company priorities into clear product direction, shaping how AI capabilities are built and evaluated, and ensuring our teams are aligned on what matters most. This position operates with high visibility and influence across the leadership team and plays a critical role in shaping how our AI product evolves, supporting decision-making, driving cross-functional execution, and filling gaps where needed to keep momentum high.

This role is particularly well-suited for someone with strong technical product instincts and AI familiarity, who can supplement leadership with deeper context on generative AI systems, tradeoffs, and quality considerations. Over time, there is potential for people management responsibilities, as the product function continues to grow.

You’ll operate hands-on — setting direction, unblocking teams, and driving rapid iteration — while also thinking strategically about how our AI product and platform scale to meet enterprise needs.

About Valence
We're the only company pioneering leadership coaching for large enterprises in an AI-first way. Our mission is to transform how the world's biggest companies approach learning and development, helping teams work better together through AI-powered personalization that adapts to individual goals and organizational culture using the latest advances in machine learning and natural language processing.

We've been featured in Harvard Business Review, TIME, World Economic Forum, Financial Times, Forbes and an Inc. 5000 fastest-growing private companies in America. Our clients represent the most diverse and sophisticated enterprise AI implementations globally, including Coca-Cola, Delta, Nestlé, General Mills, Schneider Electric, Deutsche Telekom, AstraZeneca, Prudential, CVS and Bristol Myers Squibb.

Working at Valence means you'll work directly with Fortune 500 technology leaders, building expertise through the most complex enterprise deployments while gaining insight into diverse organizational approaches to AI transformation. These aren't just any enterprise clients - they're the companies defining what AI-first business transformation looks like across every major industry.

What You'll Do

  • Act as a thought partner and execution lead for the VP of Engineering across product and AI initiatives
  • Lead strategic product direction and roadmap development in close partnership with the VP of Engineering, AI leadership, and the wider team
  • Own product initiatives end-to-end, from data insights and experimentation through to shipped features and measurable impact
  • Help shape prioritization, sequencing, and tradeoffs across engineering, AI, and product workstreams
  • Serve as a bridge between AI, engineering, and product, ensuring shared context on goals, constraints, and system behavior
  • Drive clarity and alignment on AI product quality, evaluation frameworks, and improvement initiatives
  • Step in as needed to unblock teams, clarify ownership, or drive cross-functional initiatives forward
  • Contribute to organizational planning and process design that enables teams to move quickly without losing focus
  • Support and potentially manage product team members as the organization scales

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of DevOps / Infrastructure experience, ideally supporting and scaling B2B SaaS platforms
  • Proven experience owning and evolving infrastructure that supports multiple engineering teams and production systems
  • Strong ability to operate as a trusted partner to senior engineering leadership, providing both strategic input and execution support
  • Experience acting as a force multiplier in complex organizations — comfortable owning ambiguity and driving clarity
  • AI/ML product experience or strong intuition for generative AI systems, able to reason about quality, tradeoffs, and limitations
  • Comfort stepping outside a strict PM role to address organizational or execution gaps when needed
  • Interest in mentoring or managing others as the team grows (people management experience is a plus, not a requirement)
  • Familiarity with enterprise security processes, audits, and procurement workflows
  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset — you see problems before they become incidents and take initiative to fix them
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across application, AI, and leadership teams, balancing competing priorities
