(Senior) Accountant

📌 Please note: This is an on-site role based in Vienna, Austria. Due to the fast-paced hiring process and local regulatory requirements, candidates already eligible to work in Austria or the EU are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements prepared under Austrian GAAP (UGB)
• Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and month-end close processes
• Support the preparation of regulatory and financial reporting for Austrian and EU entities
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory stakeholders
• Support audits and ensure compliance with Austrian accounting and tax requirements
• Assist in implementing and improving accounting controls, finance processes, and ERP workflows
• Work closely with Treasury, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Product teams on finance-related matters
• Support accounting analysis relating to crypto assets, safeguarding balances, payment flows, and fintech products
• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives within the finance function
• Assist with ad hoc finance projects in a rapidly evolving regulatory and operational environment

Requirements

• 6+ years of accounting or audit experience, ideally within fintech, crypto, financial services, or another fast-moving international environment
• Strong knowledge of Austrian GAAP (UGB)
• Austrian accounting or audit qualification preferred (e.g. Wirtschaftsprüfer, Steuerberater, Bilanzbuchhalter, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent)
• Experience working with external audits, financial reporting, and regulatory frameworks
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and international company environment
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is considered a plus
• Excellent English communication skills required; German is a strong advantage
