Associate Technical Sourcer
Job Description
Associate Technical Sourcer - Austin, TX
Level is a learning technology company dedicated to helping students build real academic and life skills with confidence and joy. We combine proven curriculum principles with world class interactive design to make meaningful practice something students want to come back to, not something they struggle through.
We support what teachers, schools, and parents are already doing by increasing student engagement with high quality, standards aligned practice that reinforces classroom learning. That's why we're building:
For students: Rewarding and motivating learning experiences that meet students where they are to build real academic proficiency.
For educators: Tools that fit naturally into instruction and help students stay engaged while reducing teacher workload.
For parents: Activities that help your kid catch up or get ahead, build confidence, and minimize homework battles, whether learning at school or at home.
We are committed to helping every person maximize their potential and live a life of meaning. It's a difficult problem that requires brilliant people and tremendous effort over time.
We're seeking an Associate Technical Sourcer to help us build strong talent pipelines and refine our recruiting operations as we scale our studios. If you love connecting the dots between talent
communities and company needs, mapping local recruiting landscapes, and optimizing processes that make great hiring possible, let's chat
What You'll Do:
As our Associate Technical Sourcer, you'll split your time between proactive pipeline building and operational excellence. You'll identify and engage potential candidates before we have open roles, while also ensuring that once candidates enter our process, everything runs seamlessly. Think of it as being both a talent scout and an orchestrator—you're always looking ahead while keeping the current process running smoothly.
Pipeline Development & Sourcing (Front End):
Build proactive talent pipelines: Research and identify potential candidates for key technical and creative roles before positions open, so we're never starting from scratch
Talent map the Austin ecosystem: Become an expert on local tech, gaming, and education talent communities—where do game developers hang out? Which meetups do engineers attend? What schools produce strong education technologists?
Engage passive candidates: Craft compelling outreach that introduces Level's mission and sparks curiosity, even when candidates aren't actively job searching
Expand our sourcing channels: Identify new platforms, communities, events, and networks where we can connect with exceptional talent
Build relationships early: Create warm connections with potential future candidates so when the right role opens, we're top of mind
Track market intelligence: Keep pulse on hiring trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitive landscape in our key disciplines
Process & Operations Excellence (Back End):
Coordinate seamlessly: Once candidates enter our pipeline, schedule interviews efficiently and ensure logistics feel effortless for everyone involved
Refine communication templates: Identify opportunities to improve candidate emails, interview guides, and process documentation—what's working? What could be clearer?
Maintain data integrity: Keep our ATS organized and accurate, ensuring candidate information and pipeline metrics tell the real story
Optimize workflows: Spot bottlenecks or inefficiencies in our recruiting process and propose solutions that save time without sacrificing quality
Support hiring managers: Provide interview schedules, candidate materials, and process updates that keep everyone informed and prepared
Elevate candidate experience: Ensure every touchpoint—from initial outreach to final communication—reflects Level's values and makes candidates excited about us
Throughout Your Work - Connect the Dots:
Partner with the recruiting lead: Collaborate closely to understand upcoming hiring needs, share market insights, and align sourcing strategy with business priorities
Learn our technical disciplines: Develop understanding of game development, software engineering, instructional design, and education technology to source more effectively
Contribute strategic ideas: Share observations about talent availability, sourcing strategies that could work, and opportunities to strengthen our employer brand
Grow your craft: Build foundational sourcing skills, learn recruiting operations, and discover whether you want to specialize in sourcing, recruiting, or talent operations long-term
Who you are:
Must Have:
1-2 years of experience in recruiting coordination, sourcing, sales development, research, or related roles where you found and engaged people proactively (internships and adjacent roles count!)
Familiarity with Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, or other sourcing tools and techniques
Experience building talent pipelines or managing candidate databases
Natural curiosity and research skills—you enjoy investigating, connecting dots, and uncovering information others might miss
Strong written communication with ability to craft engaging, personalized outreach that doesn't feel like spam
Detail-oriented and organized—you can manage both big-picture pipeline strategy and day-to-day scheduling logistics without dropping balls
Genuine interest in games, tech, or education—you want to understand what motivates talent in these industries and can speak their language
Scrappy and resourceful mindset—you find creative ways to identify candidates and solve problems with limited resources
Tech-savvy with ability to learn new tools quickly (LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS platforms, sourcing tools, scheduling systems)
Eligibility to work in the US; Onsite in Austin, TX
A sense of humor and collaborative spirit—recruiting is a team sport
Nice to Have:
Experience with applicant tracking systems—specifically Ashby, but other ATS experience welcomed
Prior experience in fast-paced startup or agency environments where you juggled multiple priorities
Active participation in Austin's tech, gaming, or education communities—you already know the landscape
