Purpose of the Role
To report, coordinate, and schedule the service, upgrade, and repair of high-performance electronic products, ensuring maximum performance and minimum delay.
Report on status of all returns, alert any blockers and schedule where appropriate and then update the customer with status reports.
Customer Contact for customer returns, schedule, and failure reports.
Report where resource capacities are going to become overloaded and understand manufacturing routes whilst working in conjunction with other departments.
Reporting to the Production Test Operations Manager you will be responsible for liaising with the production, purchasing, sales, project teams and the customer to achieve the successful and accurate coordination of resource for the customer returns.
Role Dimensions
The role will require commitment to deliver during peak periods or as customer demand to ensure key objectives and responsibilities are achieved.
Principal Accountabilities
- Working within TSR to help the team by assigning, coordinating, and prioritising customer returns.
- Reporting status of customer returns to Test Operations Manager
- Reporting status of customer returns to Sales Admin/Accounts Team on a weekly basis or as required.
- Proficient writing customer reports for the customer returns at a technical level from the details given by the test team.
- Main customer contact for customer returns.
- Responsible for collating trends from returned units and liaising with production quality.
- Planning and scheduling of customer returns.
- Participates in production planning meetings with team leads.
- Participates in production team stand-ups.
- Review orders and identify component due dates to facilitate the accurate planning process for the deliveries of return products in line with business imperatives and customer requirements.
- Participate in the planning and scheduling for each production department according to previously established service sequences and lead times whilst ensuring maximum performance with minimum delay.
- Proactively address potential or actual material shortages with Purchasing to track and improve shortage dates.
- Liaise with the key stakeholders to monitor the progress and determine the status of assigned returns.
- Manage and communicate stakeholder requirements, resolve issues, and make decisions in line with business plans, ensuring own understanding of deliverables and that of the teams.
- Maintain close relationships with production team leads, and continuously improve the efficiency of Customer return products
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Technical understanding of automotive/motorsport electronic components.
- Experience within the Motorsport/Automotive/Aerospace industries advantageous.
- IT skills, advanced excel capability and reporting skills are an advantage.
- Proven experience in a customer facing role.
- Have a high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
