Morpho is a leading Decentralized Finance (DeFi) lending protocol that raised $70 million from Ribbit Capital, a16z crypto, Coinbase Ventures, Variant, Brevan Howard, Pantera, Blocktower, and 50 others to build an open lending network giving anyone, anywhere, access to the best possible terms. Morpho is experiencing explosive growth, with over $10 billion in deposits on the network, solidifying itself as the new standard for DeFi lending. Location

Paris or remote (from GMT up to +2h GMT with possibility to come to the office monthly).

Role

The mission of this role is to scale Morpho's People function from 0-1 to 100+ team members while maintaining the highest operational excellence and making Morpho the best-functioning team in DeFi.


Responsibilities

  • Bring the standards of high-performing organizations to how Morpho hires, develops, and retains talent

  • Own and improve the onboarding experience to set every new hire up for success from day one

  • Support managers in developing their people, running effective monthly 1:1s, and navigating tough performance conversations

  • Help contributors grow and develop in a way that genuinely fits Morpho, adapting what growth support should look like here, rather than importing ready-made frameworks

  • Working with Finance, define and manage compensation bands to ensure Morpho stays competitive and equitable across geographies

  • Own benefits, health insurance, and HR tooling decisions and implementation across all locations

  • Work closely with the recruiting team to raise the bar on talent acquisition and grow their capabilities

  • Shape headcount planning in coordination with leadership and hiring managers

What Success Looks Like

In your first 30 days

Has met with all managers and key contributors, mapped the current state of people processes (performance reviews, onboarding, career growth, tooling), and identified the top priorities to address

By Month 4–6

You are known as the go-to People person, has made meaningful progress on supporting contributors in their growth in a way that fits Morpho's culture; managers feel better equipped to run their monthlies and develop their people; onboarding experience has been measurably improved; compensation bands drafteds.

By Month 12

Compensation bands are established and maintained; contributors have clarity on how they can grow at Morpho and feel genuinely supported in their development; HR tooling and benefits run smoothly across geographies; has become a trusted partner to managers and has meaningfully raised the people bar , and is positioned to potentially grow the scope of the function as Morpho scales

Must-have Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a People position

  • Has worked at a company well-known for having an extremely high talent density in crypto or in high-growth tech/fintech

  • Solid background in people operations including performance management, compensation, and onboarding, with experience thinking about how to support people in their growth.

  • Hands-on and execution-oriented able to build and run processes, not only advise

  • Experience helping managers grow their people and navigate performance conversations

  • Experience helping people grow and develop in ambitious environments, finding the approach that fits the company rather than applying cookie-cutter systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an empathetic, collaborative approach

  • Crypto experience or genuine curiosity and appetite to learn about DeFi

  • Located in Europe (remote-friendly)
